What if your favorite music played as you walked through the door each morning - like you were a superstar? That is what the BigEntrance experience was designed to do at the MullenLowe offices. My contributions included a UX and hardware upgrade, including:

  • Spotify API integration to allow people to choose a song from the streaming service
  • Music clip visualization and editing using wavesurfer.js
  • Production, fabrication and development of a signup kiosk, ultimately driven from a raspberry pi and touch screen.
  • Refactored player logic in python
  • Custom circuit board design with ATMega-328P chip that is serially connected to a PI to read RFID scanner input and play the song clips
  • Slack integration for logs
  • Reverse ssh tunnel for remote administration
  • Cloud-based audio processing

The moving parts included two physical computing platforms (signup poster and player) and a web app. The webapp is a ruby on rails application with postgres database.
